Assign Team Member to a Single Task
Once a project team has discussed task details and all the job duties, the project leader or manager can assign a single person to a specific task. Simply go to Task Information and choose from a list of team members names in the Resources option.
Alternatively, if your project is complex including a large group of team members, you can go to the Manage Resource tool to check all of your team members.
Set Priority to Your Task
Deciding priority for different tasks is very necessary for managing a project. This is to ensure all the tasks can be finished in clear order without conflicts. For small business projects, business resources and team members are limited so task priority can be used to indicate the most important thing to do for each time period. For large scale organizations, the total number of the employee could be quite large, but the mass order of task priority can be a waste of resources and time. Setting task priority is easy. You need to select one option from the Priority.
Insert Task Time Period
Every group member should keep in mind the deadline for each individual task of a project. This is to make sure that the overall project is on its right way to its success. There are several ways to set your task period. You can go to the Gantt Chart Options in the Advanced option of your user interface, or simply see the Task Information at the right-hand side panel. Feel free to discuss with your team members for the start and end date and time. Furthermore, a project leader can set a reward for a task milestone.
Dragging the line car is also a quite convenient way to set your task period. You can even drag the overall line bar and move it to the date you want.
Update Progress to Your Task
As a project manager, you need to keep in touch with your shareholders, business partners, team members and your superior. Knowing updated progress for a single task is really key to the success. Just go to Progress option of the Task Information then you can choose from a drop-down list of figures.
If your project is even more complex with a quite long period of time, an accurate progress percentage is necessary. Dragging the green line bar directly to your required progress. You can see there is a note window showing the detailed percentage of your progress. For the example in the below graph, the figure is 35.3%. One more way to do is input a specific number in the Progress column of the chart.
Rename Your Task
Changing your task name is not an essential step. However, your team may face some new tasks from your business partners. A short and clear task name, especially with a specific company or team name, will help a lot. As shown in the graph below all you need to do is single click the original name of the task.
Make Connections to Your Tasks
As the project goes on, some of your tasks may need to support the other ones. If you notice a close relationship with two of your tasks, you can remark them as sub and dominant connection. What you need to do is single click the sub-task, hold the mouse and drag the black line to reach the downside of the dominant task. These steps can be shown in Step 1 in the first graph. If you leave your mouse, you can see a black arrow pointing to the dominant task as shown in Step 2 in the second graph.
